Local context

Why Sparwood properties need this

Sparwood sits between the Elk River and the surrounding forested slopes, which means black bears move through residential streets as a normal part of spring and fall. Most homes here store their cart outside because there is nowhere else for it to go, and a lid strap does nothing once a cart has been knocked over.

We measured local carts first and designed around them. That is the difference between an enclosure that fits and a box you have to fight with on collection morning.

Areas we cover

  • Sparwood Heights
  • Whiskey Jack
  • Old Sparwood
  • Michel and Natal area properties

What that means for your build

  • Designed around the municipal carts used on Sparwood collection routes
  • Anchoring options for concrete, deck, paver, and gravel sites
  • Local fabrication and local installation — no freight from another province
  • Winter-aware design for snow load and frozen ground

Sparwood is our home base, so installation scheduling is usually the shortest here.

  6. 06

    Waste stays secure

Your cart lives in a fixed, locking structure between collection days.

Questions we hear locally

Will it fit my cart?

We confirm fit before anything is fabricated. Send photos of your cart and the spot it sits on with your quote request and we handle the measuring. Cart dimensions vary between communities, which is why we measured local carts before finalizing our designs.

What surface can it be installed on?

Concrete, decking, pavers, and compacted gravel all work, and each is anchored differently. If your site needs a pad, deck reinforcement, or a gravel base first, we will tell you during the assessment and quote that work separately rather than hiding it in the price.

How long does the process take?

Most residential projects move from photos to fit recommendation within a business day, then to a written proposal. Fabrication and installation are scheduled after the deposit. Timelines shift with season and volume, so we confirm dates in writing on the proposal rather than promising a number here.

What maintenance does it need?

An annual check of the hinges, latch, anchors, corrosion points, and panels. You can do it yourself with the maintenance guide that ships with every unit, or add the BearBarrier Care Plan at CAD $149–$399 per year and we will do the inspection for you.
